Hello,
My name is Shyann and I own Hamilton Pine Kennels- Dog Training and German Shepherds.
To the left you will see a picture of myself and my retired Service Dog "ZIVA".
With my passion for law enforcement I exposed myself to Police K9 Training/handling. I rode along with and got to handle several Police dogs from different departments, got to meet and see some military dogs at work and feel in love with that sort of training and handling. That passion will never leave and I will continue to educate myself in those training fields.
I started training and handling dogs when I was 11 for specialized UKC dog shows for my grandfathers Redbone Coonhounds. From there, I started studying under several judges, handlers, trainers, breeders and more! I learned so much and I'm still learning. I've raised, trained and tilted several dogs in UKC events from a young age and I'm still active in the UKC world.
I deeply enjoy handling and working along side dogs. They offer and teach us so much!
When it comes to training, I'm very serious and dedicated. When training I set myself on the tasks and become determined to help every dog shine like they could and should.
And, as stated before "Having a personal experience with "invisible" disabilities, I understand the pressure and problems that arise with having and needing for the training for service dogs. While I may not look it, am in fact disabled with several health issues. From these medical needs, I started to enter a new world of training, using and placing service dogs. Because not only of my need but because I sadly learned that many others struggle with the need. In 2010 I acquired my first service dog prospect. I trained him with assistance of several trainers and handlers. Sadly he was retired early due to medical issues common in his breed. From there I got a young female German Shepherd Dog (Ziva). She was not meant to be for service work but fell into the job like a pro! She trained with me for nearly 2 years and became my full working service dog. She has been retired in 2018. My new fully trained service dog was also trained by myself while she was still working. He has taken the job like a pro also and I hope we have many adventures as team in the years to come. My past and current service dog/s have saved my life on several occasions and I hope to be able to offer that ability to others who are in need of a service dog for nearly any disability.
My love for this German Shepherds came from my past dog, Diamond. She was not a full blooded German Shepherd but was a cross of German Shepherd and Standard Rough Coated Collie. Diamond was a great dog who could do anything! She was highly trainable and with that was highly trained. She was trained in protection, narcotics detection, tracking, agility and more.
From her I was able to gain the experience of the breed and more. And due to my love of Police K9's I knew that someday I would own one and would train him or her to be the best that they can be and beyond!
Shortly before Diamond passed (at 18 years of age), I was given the opportunity to own a German Shepherd. And that's where Miss Ziva dog comes into my life. When I got her, my intentions where not to breed. I knew there was health testing to be done, training and titles to do and more. But Ziva came at me with all that she had and proved to be a life saver, literally!
With that, I knew I needed to do more for this breed!
Which lead to me researching, learning, studying and more to become a breeder, handler, trainer and much more. I have several years of past experience with breeding pure bred, titled dogs but of a different breed. Even with all that past experience, I never claim to know it all.
Even to this day, I'm learning.
Every day is a new learning opportunity!
