OUr Pups
Whelped |
Before our pups are even born, we take great care for our females and their individual needs, their private space and comfort. Our females are given their owner, quite space to birth and raise the litter.
Most our females are raise right in my bed room or out in our puppy room. Where I will sleep until they about a week or 2 old. The pups raised in my room will stay there until weaning age around 5 weeks old, than moved into our puppy room. From birth our pups are rasied with many of the puppy culture methods and ENS (Early Neurological Stimulus). Here is a link to the puppy culture website for more information- link |
Weaning |
Once our pups hit around 5-6 weeks old they are generally off our females fully or mostly and already started on wet mushy food mix. (Goats milk, raw meat, quality limited ingredient canned food)
Once around that time, we move our puppies into their own puppy room that offers them living space like they would see in a home, from a TV, couch, different floor types, potty area, toys and much more. From this point we try to heavily expose our pups to more sounds, movements, environments and such. Our puppy room is under construction to add a outdoor area also! |
Before pick up |
As our puppies grow, they will be slowly introduced to hard kibble, set with water for drinking and before 8 weeks hits, they will have been exposed to many things, started on foundation training for leash manners, obedience, agility equipment, reward systems and much more.
Our pups are exposed to target training for pottying. Meaning they are not house broke but are trained to potty in once area, if not outside. They will be used to being confined in a crate, kennel and car rides. |
General info
Our puppies are AKC registered and often times Dual registered with UKC.
Our pups are seen by a vet for a thorough checkup and to get their age appropriate vaccines.
We have our pups wormed several times before 8 weeks of age and they are microchipped before placement also.
They will be used to being handled, to strangers, different animals, environments, surfaces, noises, grooming and waiting for new great adventures and training with their new owners!
Selection for Placement & Pick Order-
We strive to make sure our pups are placed in homes that will be able to keep them their full lives. With this in mind, we make it known and set forth guidelines to select a pup for our buyers for the best fit with the information given to us. This means that our buyers do not select pups, we do.
This process starts from day one after they are born. We watch and learn about each pup as a individual and as pack mates to their litter mates. In do this we are able to see how each pup progresses as they grow, where some have strengths we also learn about their weaknesses.
Around 6-7 weeks old we bring in strangers to help Temperament Test the pups with the Volhard Test. With this test we can also learn more about the pup and where their better placement for them is. After testing we than select the best fit for our buyers.
With this in mind we take Picks for each litter that goes in order of approved applications and paid deposits.
With each Reserved Pick we get as much information from the buyer to help with the selection process. We do keep in mind that some buyers want certain things like coat color, length and gender. But we will not place pups strictly by just color. We will take picks by gender and than select that way but know that if a puppy of that gender isn't suited we will select a pup that is from the other gender if its suitable for the buyer.
With this in mind, please know that pick orders and placement or selection can take time and is usually done around 7 weeks old. We want to insure that the best placement of our pups and happiness for the buyer with what they are seeking. We want to make sure that we are placing a pup with too much or too litter drive, suitable drives and ability plus much more.
So again, buyers do not pick puppies for themselves, picks are done in order.
And lastly, we don't place pups out by color.
